Vladimir Salkov's Playing Career
Vladimir Salkov started playing football in the youth team of FC Shakhtar Donetsk. He then joined their main team in 1960 and played there until 1969. Before joining Shakhtar's senior team, he also played for other clubs like SKVO Orenburg and Krylia Sovetov Kuybyshev.
During his time with Shakhtar, Salkov helped his team win the Soviet Cup twice. These big wins happened in 1961 and 1962. He was an important part of their defense during these championship seasons.
Coaching and Management
After he stopped playing football in 1969, Salkov began a long and successful career as a coach. His first coaching job was at Metallurg Zhdanov. Later, he returned to his beloved club, Shakhtar Donetsk, where he had played for many years.
