How a Vortex Mixer Works
Inside a vortex mixer, there's a special electric motor. This motor makes a small, soft rubber cup spin very, very fast. When you gently press a test tube or a small beaker of liquid onto this spinning cup, the liquid inside starts to swirl around.
This swirling motion creates a vortex. A vortex is like a tiny whirlpool or a spiral shape that forms in the liquid. This powerful swirling mixes the liquids together really well and very quickly.
