Wafande Pierre Jolivel Zahor (born January 21, 1983), known simply as Wafande, is a popular Danish singer and songwriter. He has African-French roots. Wafande is famous for his music, which mixes reggae, soul, and urban styles. His songs and personality have made him a beloved figure in Denmark. He works with Universal Music.

Wafande's Life and Music Journey
Early Life and Big Choices
Wafande grew up in Freetown Christiania, a special neighborhood in Copenhagen, Denmark. When he was 8 years old, his family moved to France. For some years, Wafande focused on his studies and playing basketball. He was very good at basketball.
But when it was time to choose his path, Wafande picked music. He explained that he could not do basketball practice five times a week and also play music gigs on weekends. This choice turned out to be a great one. Wafande has achieved amazing success in music. He has earned three platinum and two gold singles. He also has two top ten solo albums, with one of them going gold.
Music Success and Hit Songs
Wafande's first big hit came in 2011. It was a platinum summer song called 'Gi’ Mig Et Smil'. Pharfar and Fresh-I produced this song. More hit songs followed. These include 'En Anden' (which went platinum) and 'Uartig' (which went double platinum). His first album, 'Du Ved Det', also went gold. Later hits like 'Django (Klar På Noget Dumt)' and 'Se Mig I Dag' also earned gold awards.
In 2015, Wafande released an EP called "Grand Danois". An EP is like a mini-album. The hit song from this EP was "Himlen For Mig Selv". This song quickly became a favorite on Danish Radio P3. It stayed at the top of the music charts for many weeks.
New Projects and TV Coaching
In 2015, Wafande also started a new music group called Black Dylan. He created this group with producer Nuplex. Black Dylan quickly gained attention around the world. Their music was played on BBC Radio 2. They have performed at many international shows. These include famous places like Ronnie Scott's in London and the London Jazz Festival.
Wafande has also been a coach on the TV show Voice Junior for six seasons. This show helps young singers. Being a coach has made him even more popular in Denmark. In 2019, he started a new Danish music project. He worked with his long-time friend, the singer Shaka Loveless. He also released international songs with the producer duo Hyperclap. Their music has been played on the German national radio station N-Joy. Wafande has also been busy working on new songs in Europe, the USA, and the Bahamas. These new tracks are ready for the international music scene.
Giving Back to the Community
Wafande is also known for his charity work. He has helped many foundations. These include the Red Cross and WWF. He has also worked to help people experiencing homelessness and children with cancer.
