Walbundrie is a small village in the eastern part of the Riverina region in New South Wales, Australia. It's located about 546 kilometers (339 miles) southwest of Sydney, the state capital. It is also about 335 kilometers (208 miles) north of Melbourne. The village sits right next to the Billabong Creek. In 2006, about 190 people lived here. Walbundrie is part of the Greater Hume Shire local government area.
The local post office first opened in March 1869. It was initially called Piney Range Post Office. Its name changed to Walbundrie later that same month.

Sports Fun
People in Walbundrie have loved Australian rules football for a long time! The first records of a club playing this sport in Walbundrie date back to 1906. They even played a game against the Corowa Football Club that year.
Today, Australian rules football and netball are very popular sports in Walbundrie. The local club is part of the Hume Football League. This club is quite big! It has four football teams and five netball teams. The club is called the Rand - Walbundrie Walla Giants Football and Netball Club. This name comes from two older clubs that joined together in 2016. These were the Rand Walbundrie Tigers and the Walla Hoppers.
Past Football Competitions
There was once a football competition called the Walbundrie Football Association. This competition only ran for one season in 1914. It included teams from Bulgandra, Burrumbuttock, Walbundrie, and Walla.
