Wang Dingguo (Chinese: 王定国) was a brave Chinese woman who lived for 108 years. She was born on February 4, 1912, and passed away on June 9, 2020. She was a veteran of the Red Army and a politician in China. She was also the wife of Xie Juezai, who was a very important judge.

Who Was Wang Dingguo?

Wang Dingguo was born as Wang Yixiang in a farming family. This was in Yingshan County, Sichuan, China. From a young age, she showed great courage.

Her Early Life and Brave Choices

Wang started taking part in activities to change society in 1926. When she was 15, she faced a very difficult situation. But she bravely ran away at age 20. She then decided to join the Communist Party of China.

Joining the Revolution

In October 1933, Wang joined the Red Army. This was a military force that fought for the Communist Party. She became an official member of the Communist Party in December 1933.

She was part of a special group that performed plays and spread messages. She helped with acting, making props, and even doing makeup. When battles happened, she also bravely took up arms and fought.

One of her biggest achievements was completing the Long March. This was a very long and difficult journey. It was a military retreat by the Red Army that lasted from 1934 to 1936. Wang finished this incredible journey in October 1936.

Working for the New China

After the Communist Party formed the new government in China, Wang continued to work hard. She worked as a secretary in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This department helps manage the country's internal affairs.

Later, in 1959, she moved to work at the Supreme People's Court. This is the highest court in China. In 1964, she moved again to work with her husband. She was his secretary at the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. This group helps advise the government.

Her Family Life

Wang Dingguo met Xie Juezai in July 1937. They got married just two months later, in September 1937. They had a large family with five sons and two daughters.

One of their sons, Xie Fei, became a very famous film director.

A Long and Full Life

Wang Dingguo lived a very long and active life. She passed away from an illness in Beijing on June 9, 2020. She was 108 years old. She is remembered for her bravery, her dedication, and her long service to her country.
