Warden Peak is an interesting mountain found on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. It's located about 31 kilometers (19 miles) north of a town called Gold River. You can also find it just 1 kilometer (about half a mile) north of another mountain, Victoria Peak.

Exploring Warden Peak

Warden Peak is a part of the Vancouver Island Ranges. These ranges are a group of mountains that are themselves part of a larger mountain system called the Insular Mountains. This means Warden Peak is connected to a big chain of mountains that stretch across the region.

How Tall is Warden Peak?

Warden Peak stands tall at 1,970 meters (about 6,463 feet) above sea level. To give you an idea, that's almost two kilometers straight up! The mountain also has a "prominence" of 265 meters (869 feet). Prominence is a measurement that tells you how much a mountain sticks up from the land around it. It shows how much higher it is than the lowest point connecting it to a taller peak.

Who First Climbed Warden Peak?

The first recorded climb to the top of Warden Peak happened in 1968. A team of three climbers, Pat Guilbride, Peter Perfect, and K. Pfeiffer, were the first to reach its summit. Climbing a mountain like Warden Peak requires skill and preparation, especially in the rugged Vancouver Island Ranges.
