Warren Francis Plunkett (born August 4, 1920 – died December 30, 2018) was an important person who played American football. He later became a respected judge for many years.

Early Life and Football Career
Warren Plunkett was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota. When he was seven years old, his family moved to Austin, Minnesota. He attended Austin High School in Austin.
College Football Star
After high school, Warren went to the University of Minnesota. He played American football for the Minnesota Golden Gophers football team. His position was a blocking back, which is a type of running back who helps block for other players.
Warren was a very talented player. He was even named an All-American, which means he was one of the best college players in the country. He also helped his team win two national championships!
Playing in the NFL
After his amazing college career, Warren Plunkett played one season in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the Cleveland Rams in 1942.
Life After Football
Warren Plunkett's life was about more than just football. He served in World War II to help his country. After the war, he went to the University of Minnesota Law School.
Becoming a Judge
After finishing law school, Warren returned to Austin, Minnesota. He worked at his family's law firm. In 1955, the Governor of Minnesota, Orville Freeman, chose him to become a judge.
Warren served as a judge in the 3rd Judicial District. He worked in this important role for many years, helping to make fair decisions in court. He retired from being a judge in 1981.
Later Years and Special Home
Even after retiring as a judge, Warren Plunkett continued to work in private law practice. He kept his license to practice law active until 2018.
In 1959, Warren bought a very special house called the S. P. Elam Residence. This house was designed by a famous architect named Frank Lloyd Wright. It is one of the largest "Usonian" style houses Wright ever designed. Warren lived in this unique home for 59 years, until he passed away.
