Warwick Parish facts for kids
Warwick Parish is one of the nine main areas, called parishes, in Bermuda. It got its name from Robert Rich, 2nd Earl of Warwick, who lived a long time ago (1587-1658).
Warwick Parish is located in the middle-south part of Bermuda's island chain. It covers part of the main island, southeast of a large body of water called the Great Sound. This sound is a very important part of western Bermuda's geography. Warwick Parish also includes several small islands within the Great Sound. It shares borders with Southampton Parish to the southwest and Paget Parish to the northeast. Like most parishes in Bermuda, Warwick is about 2.3 square miles (6.0 square kilometers or 1500 acres) in size. In 2016, about 9,002 people lived there.

What Natural Places Can You Find in Warwick?
Warwick Parish has many beautiful natural spots. These include Warwick Long Bay, which is a famous beach. Other natural areas are Riddell's Bay, Darrell's Island, Hawkins Island, Long Island, and Marshall's Island. Hinson's Island used to be part of Warwick, but now it belongs to Paget Parish.
What Important Buildings Are in Warwick?
Warwick is home to Warwick Camp. This used to be a place where the military practiced shooting. Today, it is the main base for the Bermuda Regiment, which is Bermuda's local defense force. Most of Warwick Camp is also open to the public as parkland. This area includes Warwick Long Bay, Horseshoe Bay, and several smaller beaches.
Christ Church, located on Middle Road in Warwick, is a very old church. It is one of the oldest Presbyterian churches outside of Europe. It was started in 1719 and is connected to the Church of Scotland.
Warwick Pond is a special natural area. It was named a Ramsar site on May 11, 1999. A Ramsar site is a wetland of international importance, protected for its unique environment.
What About Sports in Warwick?
The PHC Zebras football (soccer) club returned to their home field, PHC Field, in 2015. They had been away for 17 years. This field was first called Warwick Stadium when it hosted its very first football match for the Bermuda Football Union.
