Wascott is a small place located in Douglas County, Wisconsin, United States. It is known as an unincorporated community. This means it is a group of homes and businesses that is not officially a city or town with its own local government. Instead, it is part of the larger Town of Wascott.

Wascott is found about 12.5 miles south of Solon Springs. It is also around 45 miles southeast of the larger city of Superior. Two important roads, U.S. Highway 53 and County Road T, help people travel to and from Wascott.

Wascott's Past: A Look at Its History

Wascott has an interesting history! A special office for mail, called a post office, was opened in Wascott in 1902. This post office helped people send and receive letters and packages for many years. It stayed open until 1995, when it was closed down.

The community of Wascott got its name from a person named W. A. Scott. He was an important official who worked for the railroad. It was common for new places to be named after people who helped develop the area, especially those involved with railroads that brought new settlers and goods.
