Waterfowl hunting facts for kids
Waterfowl hunting (also called wildfowling or waterfowl shooting in Britain) is when people hunt birds like ducks, geese, or other waterfowl. They do this for food or as a sport. In many Western countries, hunting waterfowl is a popular outdoor sport.
Many kinds of ducks and geese live in the same places. They also have similar hunting seasons, which means they can be hunted at the same time. This makes it possible to hunt different types of waterfowl on the same trip. Hunters often look for waterfowl in farm fields where the birds eat. More often, they hunt near water, like rivers, lakes, ponds, swamps, or along ocean coasts.
