Waverly is a small village located in Lancaster County, Nebraska, in the United States. It is part of the larger Lincoln metropolitan area. In 2020, about 4,279 people lived there.

History of Waverly
Waverly was officially marked out as a town in 1870. This happened when the railroad tracks were built through the area. The village was named after a famous book called Waverley. This book was written in 1814 by Walter Scott. Some of the streets in Waverly are even named after characters or places from this novel.
Waverly officially became a village in 1885. For many years, from 1921 to 1966, Waverly combined its school district with nearby areas. This helped the school system in Waverly grow and become stronger.
