Wayne Barrett (born 1988) is an American kickboxer. He is known for competing in the cruiserweight division. Wayne is a tall and strong fighter. He first became well-known as an amateur. He won a national championship with the WKA. Wayne then became a professional fighter in 2013. After just one professional fight, he joined Glory, a big kickboxing organization.

Wayne Barrett's Fighting Journey
Starting Out: Early Career (2006–2013)
Wayne Barrett started learning karate when he was ten years old. Later, he switched to Muay Thai, which is a type of kickboxing. As an amateur, he had an amazing record. He won 19 fights and only lost 1. Out of his wins, 15 were by knockout!
Wayne also did very well in amateur boxing. He won a special award called the Golden Gloves title in his home state of Georgia. After that, he moved to New York City. There, he trained with famous coaches like Rob Rogan, Jason Strout, and Kelly Richardson. He trained at different gyms, including Square Circle Muay Thai and Renzo Gracie Fight Academy.
On April 29, 2011, Wayne won the WKA Amateur United States Cruiserweight Muay Thai Championship. This was a big achievement for him. His last amateur fight was on December 7, 2012. He won that fight too, by a unanimous decision.
Wayne had his first professional fight on February 22, 2013. He won by technical knockout (TKO). His opponent had to stop fighting in the second round. This win showed everyone he was ready for the professional world.
Fighting in Glory (2013–2017)
After his first professional win, Wayne Barrett signed with Glory. This is one of the biggest kickboxing organizations in the world. He joined their middleweight division.
His first fight with Glory was on June 22, 2013, in New York City. He fought Mike Lemaire, who had never lost a fight before. Wayne quickly showed how strong he was. He knocked Lemaire down with a knee strike. Then, he finished the fight with a powerful left hook and a right cross. Lemaire fell to the ground, and Wayne won by knockout in the second round.
Wayne had another great performance on September 28, 2013. He fought Robby Plotkin and won by knockout in the first round. This was another impressive victory for him.
On November 23, 2013, Wayne faced a big challenge. He fought Joe Schilling, who was a champion in Glory. This was only Wayne's fourth professional fight! Wayne knocked Schilling down twice in the second round. Schilling managed to get back up and even knocked Wayne down in the third round. But Wayne also got back up. The judges decided the winner, and Wayne Barrett won by a unanimous decision. This was a huge win for him.
In 2014, Wayne was chosen to compete in a special tournament called Glory 17: Los Angeles - Last Man Standing. In the first round, he fought Bogdan Stoica. Wayne won by knockout in the third round. He used a strong left hook to counter Stoica's move. In the next round, he fought Joe Schilling again. This time, Schilling won by a split decision.
Wayne continued to compete in Glory until 2017. He had several more fights against tough opponents.
