Wayne Gallman Jr. (born October 1, 1994) is an American professional football running back. He played college football for the Clemson Tigers. He helped them win the CFP national championship in 2017. Later, the New York Giants picked him in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Early Life and High School Football

Wayne Gallman grew up in Loganville, Georgia. He went to Grayson High School and played high school football there. He was a talented player and was rated as a three-star recruit. After high school, he decided to play college football at Clemson University.

College Football Star at Clemson

Gallman played college football for Clemson from 2013 to 2016. He became a key player for the team.

Redshirt Year and First Season (2013-2014)

In 2013, Gallman took a "redshirt" year. This means he practiced with the team but did not play in games. This allowed him to train and get ready for future seasons.

In 2014, he played in all 13 games as a freshman. He started in nine of those games. He scored his first college touchdown against Boston College. He had a great game against Wake Forest, with 106 rushing yards and a touchdown. He finished the season with 769 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

Sophomore Success and Championship Game (2015)

Gallman became the starting running back in 2015. He played in 14 games that year. He had strong performances, including 172 rushing yards against North Carolina State. In the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship, he rushed for 187 yards and a touchdown.

Clemson had a very successful season and made it to the College Football Playoff. In the Orange Bowl, he rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns. In the championship game against Alabama, he had 45 rushing yards and a touchdown. He finished the season with an impressive 1,514 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns.

Junior Year and National Title (2016)

As a junior in 2016, Gallman continued to shine. He played in 15 games, rushing for 1,133 yards and 17 touchdowns. He had a strong game against Auburn, with 123 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Clemson again made it to the College Football Playoff. In the Fiesta Bowl, he rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown. He was a big part of the Clemson team that won the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship. They beat Alabama 35–31. After this amazing season, Gallman decided to enter the NFL Draft.

New York Giants (2017-2020)

The New York Giants picked Wayne Gallman in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He was the 14th running back chosen that year. Gallman made his NFL debut and scored his first NFL touchdown on his 23rd birthday, October 1, 2017.

In his first season, he had 476 rushing yards. He also caught 34 passes for 193 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. In 2018, he scored his first rushing touchdown.

In 2019, Gallman started a game when another player was injured. He rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown pass.

The 2020 season was a big one for Gallman. He became the starting running back after an injury to the main starter. He rushed for a career-high two touchdowns in a game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He also had a great game against the Seattle Seahawks, rushing for 135 yards. Gallman finished the 2020 season with career bests: 682 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns.
