History of Weaver Popcorn
The Weaver Popcorn Company started in 1928. It was founded by Ira E. Weaver, and his family still runs the company today. They do everything from growing the corn to packaging it. They sell many different popcorn products all over the world. Their customers include large store chains, places that sell snacks like movie theaters, and international popcorn sellers.
In 2007, the Weaver Popcorn Company made a big change. They were the first company to take out a special butter flavoring called diacetyl from their Pop Weaver microwave popcorn. Some people had concerns about this flavoring.
Popcorn Products
Weaver Popcorn Company makes several kinds of popcorn. They use canola oil in their products.
Pop Weaver Flavors
For microwave popcorn, you can find flavors like Butter, Light Butter, Extra Butter, Kettle Corn, Caramel, Cinnamon Roll, Jalapeño Cheddar, and Parmesan and Herb.
For places like movie theaters or events, they offer flavors such as Weaver Gold, Caramel & Sweet, Premium Hybrid Yellow, Candy cane flavor, Almond, and chocolate dipped popcorn.
They also have pre-popped popcorn, including Caramel Corn with Peanuts and Dash of Salt.
Trail's End Popcorn
Trail's End is a special brand of popcorn sold by Scouting America. This popcorn is sold to help raise money for Scouting groups. The flavors available can change each year, but often include: Caramel Corn, Butter Light (for microwave), Unbelievable Butter (for microwave), Kettle Corn (for microwave), Caramel Corn with Almonds & Pecans, Butter Toffee Caramel Corn, Salted Caramel Corn, White Cheddar Cheese, Cheddar Cheese, Jalapeño Cheddar, Cheese Lover's Collection, Sweet and Savory Collection, and Popping Corn.
Trail's End also offers chocolate treats like Chocolatey Peanut Clusters and Chocolatey Caramel Crunch. A cool thing about Trail's End is that people can buy popcorn to donate to the U.S. military and first responders. This popcorn is sent to service members both in the U.S. and overseas, even in combat areas. On average, about 70% of the money from these sales and donations goes directly back to Scouting. This helps the individual Scout, their local group, and their larger Council.
