Van Buren is a small town located in Grant County, Indiana, in the United States. It is part of Van Buren Township. In 2020, about 790 people lived there. The town is famous for its connection to popcorn!

History of Van Buren
The area where Van Buren is located was first planned out in 1837 by Joseph Boxell. At that time, Martin Van Buren was the President of the United States, which is how the town got its name.
Later, in 1843, a man named George H. D. Rood settled here. A small creek running through the town was named Roods Run after him. Over the years, the area was known by different names like Roods Corner, Roods Town, Roods Crossroads, and even Stringtown.
In 1888, the town was officially planned out again by C.W., and it became known as Van Buren. It officially became a town recognized by the state of Indiana in June 1892.
