Wei (Hangul: 위아이; pronounced as We-I, stylized as WEi) is a cool six-member K-pop boy group from South Korea! They were formed by a company called Oui Entertainment. The group includes Jang Dae-hyeon, Kim Dong-han, Yoo Yong-ha, Kim Yo-han, Kang Seok-hwa, and Kim Jun-seo. WEi officially started their journey on October 5, 2020, with their first album, Identity: First Sight.

The Journey to WEi

Before WEi: Solo Adventures

Before joining WEi, some members were already busy in the K-pop world! Daehyeon and Donghan were on a TV show called Produce 101. This was a reality show where trainees competed to become part of a new group. Donghan finished in 29th place, and Daehyeon in 83rd place.

After Produce 101, Donghan joined a group called JBJ. Daehyeon became part of Rainz. Both groups were active for a while before they finished their activities in 2018. Later, Donghan started his solo music career in June 2018, and Daehyeon followed in July 2019.

Kang Seok-hwa also competed on a show called YG's Treasure Box. However, he did not make it into the final group from that show.

Yoo Yong-ha and Kim Jun-seo were contestants on another show called Under Nineteen. Both of them successfully made it into the final group, 1the9. They debuted on April 13, 2019, and their group officially finished its activities on August 8, 2020.

Joining Produce X 101

In May 2019, Kim Yo-han and Kang Seok-hwa both took part in the TV show Produce X 101. Kim Yo-han was representing Oui Entertainment, while Seokhwa was an individual trainee. Seokhwa finished in 35th place and was eliminated from the show. Kim Yo-han did amazingly well, finishing in 1st place! He then debuted as a member of the group X1 on August 27, 2019. Sadly, X1 disbanded on January 6, 2020, due to some issues with the show's voting process.

WEi's Official Debut

Oui Entertainment first announced the new group in May 2020. They shared videos of each member under the temporary name OUIBOYS. Later, the group's official name was revealed to be WEi. They made their exciting debut with their first mini-album, called Identity: First Sight, on October 5, 2020. The main song from this album was "Twilight."

WEi then made a comeback on February 24, 2021, with their second mini-album, Identity: Challenge. The lead single from this album was "All Or Nothing" (모 아님 도).
