Edwin Villanes Deramas (born September 15, 1966 – died February 29, 2016) was a famous Filipino director and writer for movies and TV shows. Many people knew him as Direk Wenn or Wenn V. Deramas. He created many popular films and TV series that people loved to watch.

Direk Wenn's Early Life and Education
Wenn Deramas studied at the University of Santo Tomas. He earned a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. While he was a student there, he loved acting. He was even a member of a theater group called Teatro Tomasino.
Direk Wenn's Amazing Career Journey
Before becoming a director, Wenn Deramas worked as a waiter. He worked at the Aristocrat Restaurant. After two years, he was promoted to a food and beverages coordinator.
In 1990, he started working in TV. He was a production assistant for a show called Tatak Pilipino. Later, he became a writer for Teysi ng Tahanan. He then became the executive producer for Calvento Files.
After that, Direk Wenn started directing many TV shows. He also directed many successful movies. These included the Ang Tanging Ina film series. He also directed several hit movies starring the comedian Vice Ganda.

Direk Wenn's Passing
Direk Wenn passed away on February 29, 2016. He had experienced heart problems before. His funeral was held in Quezon City on March 6, 2016. Many people from the entertainment industry attended to pay their respects.
