Wesley Clint "Big Nasty" Malott (born October 26, 1976) is a professional bowler from the United States. He is a member of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA). Wes was born in Pflugerville, Texas, and now lives in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He has won ten PBA Tour titles. One of his biggest wins was the 2012–13 U.S. Open. He was also named the 2008–09 Chris Schenkel PBA Player of the Year. Wes has rolled 41 perfect 300 games in PBA events. In 2022, he was chosen for the PBA Hall of Fame.

Wes Malott's Pro Bowling Career

Wes Malott started winning titles early in his career. He won one title each season from 2005–06 to 2007–08. His biggest year was the 2008–09 season. That year, he won the PBA Player of the Year Award. This award goes to the best bowler of the season. Wes had a great year, making it to nine TV finals and winning three times. He also earned a lot of money, over $174,000! He had the highest average score that season, with 222.98 pins per game.

At the 2009 PBA World Series of Bowling, Wes almost won his first major title. He made it to the TV finals of the PBA World Championship. But he was beaten by a new bowler named Tom Smallwood. Tom had just lost his job, making his win a big surprise.

Even though Wes didn't win a tournament in the 2009–10 season, he still bowled very well. He had the second-highest average on the Tour.

In the 2011–12 season, Wes won a title with his partner Norm Duke. They won the Mark Roth-Marshall Holman Exempt Doubles Championship.

The 2012–13 season was very important for Wes. He won his first major championship, the U.S. Open, by beating Jason Belmonte. Later that same season, he won another title, the Cheetah Championship. This was the first time since 2008–09 that he won more than one title in a season. He also had his best average score ever, 228.09.

Wes and Norm Duke won their second Mark Roth-Marshall Holman Doubles Championship in 2015. This win gave Wes his tenth PBA Tour title. Reaching ten titles is a big deal because it makes a bowler eligible for the PBA Hall of Fame.

In 2017, Wes won a special event called the PBA "King of the Hill." It was broadcast live online.

Wes was also a key player for the Portland Lumberjacks team in the PBA League tournament. He helped his team win in 2019 and 2020. He was even named the Mark Roth League MVP (Most Valuable Player) two years in a row! In 2020, he also won the PBA League All-Star Clash, earning $25,000 for himself and $50,000 for his team.

In January 2022, Wes Malott got a big surprise. During an interview, the PBA commissioner told him he was chosen for the PBA Hall of Fame! He was the only person inducted in the 2022 class.

King of Bowling

Wes Malott became the "King of Bowling" in a special TV event in 2009. He won all five of his matches. He even bowled two perfect 300 games during these matches!

After that first event, the "King of Bowling" became a challenge match. Wes would defend his title against a challenger chosen by fans.

Wes was the "King" for a long time. He defended his crown eight times through 2018. He beat many famous bowlers like Tommy Jones, Jason Belmonte, and Walter Ray Williams Jr.. His streak finally ended on July 20, 2020. He was defeated by his friend and doubles partner, Norm Duke.
