West Norriton Township is a community located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is a type of local government called a township. The area is part of the Norristown Area School District.

History of West Norriton
On March 9, 1909, the original Norriton Township was split into two parts. These parts became East Norriton and West Norriton townships.
Geography of the Township
West Norriton Township covers a total area of about 6.2 square miles (16.1 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 5.9 square miles (15.2 square kilometers), is land. The remaining 0.3 square miles (0.8 square kilometers) is water. This means about 5% of the township is covered by water.
Getting Around West Norriton
As of 2018, West Norriton Township had over 50 miles of public roads. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) takes care of about 12.7 miles of these roads. The township itself maintains the other 38.1 miles.
Major Roads
U.S. Route 422 is the main highway that goes through West Norriton. It passes through the southwestern part of the township. Pennsylvania Route 363 connects with US 422. It then travels northeast along Trooper Road before leaving the township.
Public Transportation
SEPTA offers bus services in West Norriton Township. These Suburban Bus routes include 91, 93, 99 and 131. These buses connect the township to the Norristown Transportation Center in Norristown and other nearby areas.

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia runs Visitation B.V.M. School. This school is located in West Norriton Township, near the area called Trooper.
Another local Catholic school is Mother Teresa Regional Catholic School. It is located in King of Prussia. This school was created in 2012. It was formed by combining St. Teresa of Avila in West Norriton and Mother of Divine Providence in King of Prussia.
