West Odessa is a community in Texas, United States. It's located in Ector County, right next to the city of Odessa. West Odessa is called a "census-designated place" (CDP). This means it's an area that the government counts for population, even though it doesn't have its own city government.
In 2010, about 22,707 people lived here. By 2020, the population grew to 33,340 people. West Odessa is also part of the larger Odessa metropolitan area.

West Odessa's Location and Size
West Odessa is found in the middle of Ector County. It has clear borders:
- To the south, you'll find Interstate 20.
- To the north, there's Texas State Highway 302.
- To the west, it's bordered by FM 866.
- To the east, it touches the city of Odessa.
Several exits from Interstate 20 (Exits 104, 108, 112, and 113) help people get to West Odessa. The community covers a total area of about 162.5 square kilometers (about 62.7 square miles). Most of this area is land, with only a small part (0.2 square kilometers) being water.
