Westerwick is a small village located on Mainland, which is the largest island in Shetland, Scotland. This peaceful settlement is part of the Sandsting area. It sits facing south, with tall cliffs protecting it on both sides.
At the end of the inlet, there is a small, stony beach. The land around Westerwick is quite green, with fewer rocky areas than you might usually see in Shetland. This makes the area great for exploring the cliffs and enjoying nature.
Westerwick is not far from another village called Silwick. It is also about three miles from Skeld, which is on the western side of the Shetland Mainland. Only a few houses make up the village of Westerwick, giving it a quiet and charming feel.

Westerwick is known as the birthplace of a famous poet named Thomas Alexander Robertson. He was better known by his pen name, Vagaland.
