Westfield, Pennsylvania, was once known for the Eberle Tannery. A tannery is a place where animal hides are turned into leather. This tannery closed in 2004.
In 1976, the Eberle Tannery was one of the largest producers of sole leather for shoes in the world. It was located on Church Street. The buildings of the tannery were taken down in 2021.
