What is a Wham Bar?

Chewy and Fizzy Fun

Wham Bars are thin, chewy bars, a bit like taffy. They have small, colored pieces of fizzy sherbet powder mixed throughout. This gives them a fun, tangy kick!

Flavors and Sizes

You can find Wham Bars in many different flavors. The original flavor is Raspberry. Other popular flavors include Strawberry, Cola, and even a special "Brew" flavor that tastes a bit like Irn-Bru, a famous Scottish drink. There are also super sour options like Extreme Super Sour (Blackcurrant), Sour Apple, and Sour Cherry. Most flavors come in different sizes: Standard, Mega, and Mini.

The Story of Wham Bars

How They Started

Wham Bars first appeared in the early 1980s. They were created by a Scottish candy company called McCowan's, which was based in a town called Stenhousemuir. These chewy bars quickly became very popular. At their most popular time, people bought about 30 million Wham Bars every single year!

A New Home for Wham

In 2011, the company that made Wham Bars, New McCowans Ltd, faced some difficulties. But don't worry, the Wham Bar didn't disappear! On October 14, 2011, another candy company called Tangerine Confectionery bought the Wham Bar brand. This meant that Wham Bars could continue to be made and enjoyed by kids and adults alike.
