How White City Grew

White City was first started in 1955 by a person named M. Kenneth White. The city was named after him! Over the years, it grew and changed how it was governed.

  • On September 26, 2006, White City was given "Township Status." This meant it could manage some of its own local affairs.
  • Then, on January 1, 2017, it became an "Incorporated Metro Township." This was another step towards having more control over its own government.
  • Most recently, on May 1, 2024, White City officially became an "Incorporated City." This means it now has its own city government, like many other cities in Utah.
