History of Whiteside
Whiteside was officially planned and marked out in 1882. It was named after William Whiteside, who owned the land where the village was built. A post office opened in Whiteside in 1883 and has been running ever since.
There is a small, old schoolhouse in Whiteside. It is a very important part of the community's history.
