Wii Chess is a fun chess video game made for the Wii console. Nintendo developed this game. It first came out in Europe on January 18, 2008. There, you could buy it in stores.
Later, on September 30, 2008, the game was released in Japan. In Japan, it was called Tsūshin Taikyoku: World Chess. Players could download it through WiiWare. Wii Chess was never released in North America or Australia. This makes it the only game in the Wii series that wasn't available in those places. Also, it's the only game in the series where you can't play as Mii characters.
How to Play Wii Chess
Playing Wii Chess is easy! You use your Wii Remote to move the chess pieces. Instead of pointing at the screen, you use the D-pad on the controller. This lets you pick up and move your pieces around the board.
The game has some cool features to help you learn.
- If you are new to chess, the game can show you how each piece moves. This is great for learning the rules!
- You can also save your games. This means you can watch them again later. It's a good way to see what you did well or what you could do better.
You could also play against other people online. This was possible thanks to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Players of Wii Chess could play against people who had the World Chess game in Japan.
