Wild Horse is a small, quiet community in Elko County, Nevada. It is not a city or town with its own government. Instead, it is an unincorporated community. This means it is a group of homes and businesses without a formal local government.
Wild Horse is located along Nevada State Route 225. It sits just south of the Wild Horse Reservoir. The community gets its name from this nearby reservoir.

The coldest temperature ever recorded was a very chilly -42 degrees Fahrenheit (-41 degrees Celsius). This cold snap happened twice, on December 23, 1990, and February 3, 1996.
