William Chambers (born 26 May 1988) is an Australian retired athlete. He played both rugby league and rugby union. He last played for the LA Giltinis in the United States.
Will Chambers is famous for playing as a centre for the Melbourne Storm. He won two big championships, called the Grand Finals, with them. He also played for the Australian national team and for Queensland in the State of Origin series.
Besides rugby league, he also played rugby union for teams like the Queensland Reds and Munster.

Early Life and Beginnings
Will Chambers was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. His family has Indigenous Australian heritage. When he was two years old, his family moved to a small town called Nhulunbuy in the Northern Territory.
He started playing junior rugby league there. When he was 13, he moved back to Brisbane. He played school football for St Joseph's College, Nudgee. The Melbourne Storm team noticed his talent and signed him to play in the National Rugby League (NRL) when he was still a schoolboy.
Rugby League Career
Playing for Melbourne Storm (2007-2009)
Will Chambers started his professional career with the Melbourne Storm in the NRL. He usually played as a centre or winger. He also played for a team called Brisbane Norths in the Queensland Cup.
After a player named Matt King left the Storm, many thought Will Chambers would take his place. His last game for Melbourne during this time was the 2009 NRL Grand Final win.
Return to Melbourne Storm (2012-2019)
Chambers came back to the Melbourne Storm in 2012. His first game back was on March 25, 2012, where he scored a try. He had a great return, even scoring three tries in one game against the New Zealand Warriors.
He was part of the team that won the 2012 NRL Grand Final. This made him one of the few players to win both NRL and Super Rugby titles. He had won the Super Rugby title with the Queensland Reds in 2011.
In 2013, he helped Melbourne win the 2013 World Club Challenge against Leeds.
State of Origin and National Team
Will Chambers was chosen for the Queensland team in the 2014 State of Origin series. He was a reserve player for the first two games. But when another player got injured, Chambers got to play his first State of Origin game in Game Three.
In 2015, he was chosen to captain the Melbourne Storm in a special tournament called the NRL Auckland Nines. He also played for the Indigenous All Stars team.
After a strong start to the 2015 NRL season, Chambers was picked to play for the Australian national team, known as the Kangaroos. He made his debut against the New Zealand Kiwis.
Grand Final Appearances
In the 2016 NRL season, Melbourne Storm won the Minor Premiership, meaning they were the best team during the regular season. They reached the Grand Final but lost to the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks. Chambers scored a try in that game.
The 2017 NRL season was a big one for Melbourne. They again won the Minor Premiership and then won the Grand Final against the North Queensland Cowboys.
In the 2018 NRL season, Melbourne made it to the Grand Final again, but lost to the Sydney Roosters.
The 2019 NRL season was Chambers' last with Melbourne. The Storm won the Minor Premiership but were defeated by the Sydney Roosters in the finals.
Playing for Cronulla-Sutherland (2021)
On April 19, 2021, Will Chambers signed a one-year deal to play for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in the NRL.
He played his first game for Cronulla in Round 8 of the 2021 NRL season against his old team, the Melbourne Storm. In Round 15, he scored his first try for Cronulla against the North Queensland Cowboys.
Rugby Union Career
Playing for Queensland Reds (2010-2011)
Will Chambers switched to rugby union in 2010. He signed a two-year deal with the Queensland Reds to play in the Super Rugby competition. He was on the bench when the Reds won the Super 15 final in 2011, but he did not play in the match.
Playing for Munster (2011)
In September 2011, Chambers signed a short-term deal to play for Munster in Ireland. He joined the team in October 2011. He played his first full game for Munster on October 28, 2011.
He also played in the Heineken Cup, a big European competition. Chambers scored his first try for Munster in a game against Castres Olympique. After four months with Munster, he returned to Australia to play for the Melbourne Storm again.
Playing for Suntory Sungoliath (2020)
After leaving the Melbourne Storm in 2019, Chambers moved to Japan. He joined a rugby union team called Suntory Sungoliath.
Playing for LA Giltinis (2022)
In 2022, Chambers returned to rugby union for a third time. He signed with the LA Giltinis, a team in Major League Rugby in the United States.
