William Ford (born December 15, 1986) is an American former professional football player. He was a running back in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Saskatchewan Roughriders. Before turning professional, he played college football at South Carolina State University.

Early Life and College Football Journey
William Ford was born on December 15, 1986. He grew up in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. There, he went to Travelers Rest High School. He was a star athlete, playing both football and track. In 2017, he was honored by being added to the Travelers Rest High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
From 2006 to 2009, Ford played college football. He was part of the South Carolina State Bulldogs team. During his time there, he set amazing records. He gained 4,688 rushing yards and scored 35 rushing touchdowns. These were career records for his school and the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. In his final year, he had an injury during a playoff game. In 2016, he was inducted into the South Carolina State Athletics University Hall of Fame.
Professional Football Career
After college, Will Ford was seen as a promising player. Experts rated him as one of the top running backs for the 2010 NFL draft.
Starting in the CFL
On June 9, 2010, Ford signed with the Toronto Argonauts. However, he got a high ankle sprain during a preseason game. Because of this injury, he was released by the team on June 17, 2010.
Time with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers
In July 2012, Ford joined the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He played in 11 games during the 2012 season. He ran for 133 yards and scored three touchdowns. He also caught seven passes for 96 yards.
The 2013 season was a big year for Ford. He carried the ball 113 times for 594 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught seven passes for 41 yards and one touchdown. Additionally, he returned 45 kickoffs for a total of 1,047 yards and two touchdowns. His excellent performance earned him a spot as a CFL East All-Star for 2013. In July 2014, the Blue Bombers released him.
Playing for the Saskatchewan Roughriders
Ford quickly found a new team. On July 22, 2014, he signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Just a few days later, on July 26, 2014, he had an incredible first game. He scored three rushing touchdowns against his former team, the Argonauts.
During the 2014 season, he played in ten games for the Roughriders, starting eight of them. He rushed for 452 yards and scored six touchdowns. He also caught seven passes for 70 yards and one touchdown. He had one kickoff return for 28 yards. On October 21, 2014, Ford was released by the Roughriders.
Life After Playing Football
After his professional playing career, Will Ford returned to his roots. He has spent time working as an assistant coach at his old high school, Travelers Rest.
