The William "Bill" Dannelly Reservoir is a large, man-made lake in Alabama. It was created by the Millers Ferry Lock and Dam on the Alabama River. This reservoir stretches across parts of Dallas County and Wilcox County. It covers about 27 square miles (70 square kilometers). The shoreline of the lake is very long, stretching for about 500 miles (800 kilometers). The reservoir is named after William "Bill" Dannelly. He was a special judge in Wilcox County who helped improve the Alabama and Coosa Rivers.
