William Arjona (born July 31, 1979) is a famous Brazilian volleyball player. He is known for being a fantastic "setter," which is a key position in volleyball. A setter's job is to decide where the ball goes next, setting it up perfectly for teammates to spike. William played for the Brazil men's national volleyball team and helped them win big awards.
He is most famous for being a 2016 Olympic Champion. He won this gold medal with the Brazilian team at the Olympic Games held in Rio de Janeiro.
William first joined the adult national team in 2003. He played for four years in Argentina with a club called Bolivar. There, he won the national championship four times and was even chosen as the best player in the country.
In 2010, he returned to Brazil to play for Sada Cruzeiro. With this team, he won the Superliga in 2012 and was named the best setter in that competition. In 2013, he helped Brazil win a silver medal in the World League and a gold medal in the South American Championship. He was also named the Best Setter in the World Club Championship. William Arjona won the FIVB World League with Sada Cruzeiro three times: in 2013, 2015, and 2016.
