William Henry Byrne (born May 17, 1844, died April 28, 1917) was an Irish architect. An architect is someone who designs buildings. William Henry Byrne mostly designed churches. He learned his skills from another architect named James Joseph McCarthy. In 1869, he started his own business with John O’Neill. After O'Neill passed away in 1883, William Henry Byrne continued to work on his own.

In 1902, William Henry Byrne decided to bring his own son, Ralph, into his business. They worked together as partners.

William Henry Byrne was famous for designing many churches. However, one of his most well-known projects in Dublin was not a church. It was the South City Markets on South Great George's Street.
