William Keith-Falconer, 6th Earl of Kintore (born December 11, 1766 – died October 6, 1812), was an important Scottish nobleman. He held several titles, including the 6th Earl of Kintore. He was also the 8th Lord Falconer of Halkerton and the 6th Lord Keith of Inverurie and Keith Hall.

William Keith-Falconer: A Scottish Nobleman
William Keith-Falconer was a significant figure in Scottish history. He inherited important titles and played a role in the military. His life shows us what it was like to be part of the nobility in the late 1700s and early 1800s.
His Early Years
William Keith-Falconer was born on December 11, 1766. He was the only son in a large family. He had seven younger sisters. None of his sisters ever married.
His father was Anthony Keith-Falconer, 5th Earl of Kintore. His mother was Christina Elizabeth Sichterman. William's family had roots in both Scotland and the Netherlands. His grandfather, William Falconer, 6th Lord Falconer of Halkerton, was a colonel in the Dutch Army.
Joining the Military
William Keith-Falconer chose to serve in the military. He became an officer in the 2nd Dragoons (Royal Scots Greys). This was a famous cavalry regiment. Serving in the military was a common path for young noblemen at the time.
Becoming an Earl
On August 30, 1804, William's father passed away. This meant William inherited his father's titles. He became the 6th Earl of Kintore. He also became the 6th Lord Keith of Inverurie and Keith Hall. These titles were created in 1677. He also became the 8th Lord Falconer of Halkerton, a title created in 1647. These titles are part of the Peerage of Scotland.
Family Life

William Keith-Falconer married Maria Bannerman on June 18, 1793. Maria was the daughter of Sir Alexander Bannerman, 6th Baronet. Together, William and Maria had three children:
- Anthony Adrian Keith-Falconer, 7th Earl of Kintore (1794–1844). He later inherited his father's titles.
- Lady Maria Keith-Falconer (1795–1864). She never married.
- Hon. William Keith-Falconer (1799–1846). He became a Captain in the Royal Navy. He married Louisa Grant in 1830.
His Legacy
Lord Kintore passed away on October 6, 1812. His wife, Lady Kintore, died later on June 30, 1826. After his death, his eldest son, Anthony, became the 7th Earl of Kintore.
