Willian's Football Journey

Willian started his professional football career in Brazil. He played for several different clubs throughout his time as a player.

Early Career in Brazil

In 2003, Willian signed a new three-year contract with Atlético Paranaense. This showed he was an important player for the team.

A couple of years later, in 2005, he moved to another Brazilian club called America in Rio de Janeiro. Later that year, he joined Vasco da Gama on a short contract. He played his first game in Brazil's top league, the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, for Vasco.

In mid-2006, Willian moved to Botafogo.

Playing Abroad

In January 2007, Willian got a chance to play in Japan. He was loaned to a Japanese club called Vegalta Sendai. He wore the number 11 jersey there. However, his time in Japan was short, and he left the club in July of the same year.

In the summer of 2008, Willian moved to Europe. He was transferred to K.V. Kortrijk, a club in Belgium. This team played in the Belgian first division, which is the top league in Belgium. He played 26 games for Kortrijk and scored 5 goals.

Return to Brazil

Willian returned to Brazil in 2010. He signed a two-year contract with Santo André. During his time there, he unfortunately broke his leg in a game against Guaratinguetá. The player from Guaratinguetá, Júlio César, who was involved in the incident, was suspended for 180 days.

Willian continued to play for various clubs in Brazil, including Portuguesa on loan, and Botafogo (SP).
