Willow Shields (born June 1, 2000) is an American actress. She is famous for playing Primrose Everdeen in The Hunger Games movies. These were popular science fiction adventure films released from 2012 to 2015.
Willow was nominated for a Young Hollywood Award and an MTV Award. These nominations were for her roles in the second and fourth Hunger Games films.
She first acted in the TV show In Plain Sight in 2009. Later, she had a supporting role in the TV movie Beyond the Blackboard (2011). After The Hunger Games series, she starred in the fantasy film Into the Rainbow (2017). She also played Lorian in Woodstock or Bust (2019) and Serena in the Netflix series Spinning Out (2020).

Willow Shields was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her mother is Carrie and her father, Rob, is an art teacher. Willow has an older brother named River. She also has a twin sister named Autumn. Both her siblings are actors too.
Acting Career Beginnings
First Roles and The Hunger Games
Willow Shields started acting in 2008. Her first job was a small voice role in a short film called Las Vegas New Mexico 1875. In 2009, she appeared on the USA drama series In Plain Sight. She played a character named Lisa Rogan in one episode.
In 2011, Willow was in the television film Beyond the Blackboard. She acted alongside Emily VanCamp in this movie. Willow played Grace, a child who was experiencing homelessness.
Joining The Hunger Games Series
In April 2011, Willow was chosen for the science fiction adventure film The Hunger Games. This was her first big movie role. She played Primrose Everdeen, a key supporting character.
The movie came out in March 2012. The Hunger Games broke many box-office records. It became one of the highest-earning films that year. Critics and audiences liked it a lot. This movie helped Willow become widely known. She said that "just growing up as the character is going to be really fun."

Willow continued to play Primrose in all the Hunger Games movies. The second film, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, was the highest-earning movie of 2013. It was also the most liked film in the series. Willow was nominated for a Young Hollywood Award in 2014 for her acting in it.

Dancing With The Stars and Other Roles
In 2012, it was announced that Willow would star in a fantasy film called The Wonder. This movie was filmed in China and New Zealand. It was later released as Into the Rainbow in 2017 at different film festivals.
In February 2015, Willow Shields joined the TV show Dancing with the Stars. She was one of the famous people competing in Season 20. Her dance partner was professional dancer Mark Ballas.
At 14 years old, Willow was the youngest person to ever compete on the show. The previous youngest was Zendaya, who was 16. Willow and Mark were eliminated in the seventh week. They finished in seventh place, even though they often received high scores from the judges.
In 2018, Willow starred in the coming-of-age film Woodstock or Bust. She played the main character, Lorian. Critics praised her performance. She even won an award at the Artemis Women in Action Film Festival for it.
In December 2018, Willow was cast in the Netflix original series Spinning Out. She played Serena Baker in this show about figure skating. A stunt actor named Kim Deguise Léveillée performed her skating stunts. Spinning Out was released in 2020 and received good reviews. However, the show was canceled after one season.
