Education in Wilmot
Students in Wilmot attend public schools managed by the Hamburg School District. After elementary school, students go on to complete their high school education at Hamburg High School.
Wilmot used to have its own school district, called the Wilmot School District. This district joined the Hamburg School District on July 1, 1986. The Hamburg district continued to operate Wilmot Elementary School for many years.
However, the number of students at Wilmot Elementary School decreased over time. Around 1996, there were about 100 students. By 2016, this number had dropped to 42 students. Because of the lower enrollment and financial concerns, the Hamburg school board decided to close Wilmot Elementary School.
