Bridge Collapse and Rebuilding
The original Wimer Bridge was built in 1927. Sadly, this bridge fell into the creek in 2003. But the community worked to replace it.
In 2008, a new bridge was built. It looked very much like the old one but was made with stronger materials. The project got help from federal money and local people who volunteered their time.
New Bridge Features
The new Wimer Bridge opened to traffic in February 2008. It is a one-way bridge, just like the original. It is 17 feet (5.2 meters) wide. The bridge can hold up to 10 tons of weight.
