In May 1917, a very strong tornado hit Windham Springs. This powerful storm caused a lot of damage. It completely destroyed the old hotel. A local church and many houses in the community were also ruined.
The Oregonia Post Office
For many years, Windham Springs had its own post office. It operated under the name Oregonia. This post office served the community from 1848 until 1907.
