Hay Township is a community located in Gladwin County, Michigan, in the United States. It is a type of local government area called a civil township. In 2020, about 1,279 people lived here. The township was officially started in 1908.

Places in Hay Township
Hay Township is home to a few smaller communities. These are places where people live and gather, but they are not officially separate towns.
- White Star is a community located where two main roads, M-61 and M-30, meet. It is on the west side of the Tittabawassee River.
- Winegars is another community found along M-30.
- Wooden Shoe Village is a community located on M-61, but it is on the east side of the Tittabawassee River.

The Tittabawassee River
The Tittabawassee River is an important natural feature in Hay Township. It flows from north to south right through the middle of the township. Rivers are often important for wildlife and can be places for outdoor activities.
Main Roads in the Township
Two major highways help people travel through Hay Township:
M-30 runs from south to north. It forms most of the western edge of the township.
M-61 travels from west to east. You can find it in the northern part of the township.
People of Hay Township
In the year 2000, there were 1,402 people living in Hay Township. This means there were about 63 people per square mile. Most of the people living here were White. A small number of residents were Native American or Asian.
