History of Wisner

Wisner was started in 1892. It was founded by Edward Wisner. His family came from Switzerland and first settled in Orange County, New York, in the early 1700s.

Geography of Wisner

Wisner is found in the southern part of Franklin Parish. It is located along U.S. Route 425. This road goes north for about 14 miles to Winnsboro, which is the main town of the parish (called the parish seat). The road also goes south for about 9 miles to Sicily Island.

The United States Census Bureau says that the town of Wisner covers a total area of about 2.06 square kilometers (0.80 square miles). All of this area is land.
