Wolfhalden is a small town, also called a municipality, in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden in Switzerland. It's a lovely place with a rich history and beautiful nature.

History of Wolfhalden
Wolfhalden, along with two other towns, Heiden and Lutzenberg, used to be part of one bigger area called Kurzenberg.
Around the year 1650, people in Wolfhalden and Heiden had different ideas about their local church. Because they couldn't agree, each village decided to build its own church in 1652. This made them more independent.
By 1658, the Kurzenberg area officially split into three separate municipalities. This happened even though the canton government didn't want it. The exact borders of these three towns were finally set in 1666-1667.
