The Wonder Girls were a very popular South Korean girl group. They were known for their catchy songs and fun performances. They started their journey in 2007 and became famous around the world, especially for their hit song "Nobody."
The Start of Wonder Girls
The Wonder Girls first appeared on February 10, 2007, on a TV show called Show! Music Core. They sang their first song, "Irony," which was from their mini-album called The Wonder Begins. This album sold over 11,000 copies in 2007 and was a good start for them.
Their music was produced by Jin-young Park, who is the head of JYP Entertainment. The Wonder Girls were the first girl group to come from JYP Entertainment since it began. The first five members were chosen after auditions.
Who Were the Members?
The original members of Wonder Girls were Sunye, Yeeun, Sunmi, Sohee, and Hyuna. Over time, some members changed:
- Hyuna left the group in June 2007 because of health issues.
- Sunmi left in January 2010 to focus on her studies.
- Later, Sunmi rejoined the group, and Sunye left.
- The final members were Yeeun, Yubin, Sunmi, and Hyelim.
After leaving the group, Sohee became a successful actress. The group officially ended in 2017 when Yeeun and Sunmi left JYP Entertainment.
