Early Life and College Football

Wonderful Terrific Monds Jr. went to Fort Pierce Central High School in Fort Pierce, Florida. After high school, he played college football at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He was a very good player there.

In 1975, he was named a First-team All-American. This means he was one of the best college football players in the whole country. He was also a top player in the Big Eight Conference in both 1974 and 1975.

Professional Football Career

In 1976, the Pittsburgh Steelers picked Wonder Monds in the fourth round of the 1976 NFL draft. Being "drafted" means a professional team chooses a player from college to join their team.

Even though he was drafted by the Steelers, Monds also played for the Ottawa Rough Riders. This team is part of the Canadian Football League (CFL). In 1976, he helped the Ottawa Rough Riders win the 64th Grey Cup. The Grey Cup is like the Super Bowl for Canadian football.

He later played one season with the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL in 1978. He then returned to play for the Ottawa Rough Riders in 1979.

Family Life

Wonderful Terrific Monds Jr. has two sons who also played sports. His son, Mario Monds, was a defensive tackle in the NFL. A defensive tackle is another position in football that helps stop the other team.
