Wortham's Location and Landscape
Wortham is in the northwestern part of Freestone County. A main road, Texas State Highway 14, goes through the town. It connects Wortham to Richland and Interstate 45 to the north. It also leads to Mexia to the south. Fairfield, the main town of Freestone County, is southeast of Wortham.
The town covers about 5.1 square kilometers (about 2 square miles) of land. Wortham is also close to the Tehuacana Hills. These hills are some of the highest points between the big cities of Dallas and Houston.
