Fairfield is a city in Texas, United States. It is the main town, or county seat, of Freestone County. The city was founded in 1851. In 2020, about 2,850 people lived there.

Fairfield's Location and Roads
Fairfield is right in the middle of Freestone County. A big highway called Interstate 45 runs along the west side of the city. This highway can take you about 88 miles north to Dallas or 152 miles south to Houston.
Another important road, U.S. Route 84, goes right through the city. If you go east on this road, you'll reach Palestine in about 35 miles. Going west will take you to Waco, which is about 63 miles away.
