Wyngard Tracy was a famous Filipino talent manager. He was born on February 7, 1952, and passed away on November 16, 2010. He helped many actors and music groups, like the band Side A, become successful in the Philippines. He ran his own company called Artiststation, Inc.
Wyngard Tracy was also known for being a judge on popular TV shows. He was a judge on Pinoy Idol on GMA Network starting in 2008. He also judged shows like Showtime and Magpasikat on ABS-CBN.
He managed many well-known stars. Some of them include Kaye Abad, Richard Gomez, Lucy Torres, Maricel Soriano, Wendell Ramos, John Estrada, and Priscilla Meirelles.
Wyngard Tracy's Life and Career
Wyngard Tracy started his career in the 1970s. He first worked as a production assistant for television shows. After that, he became a radio disc jockey (DJ) on a station called DWWK. This station was the first pop FM radio station in the Philippines.
After being a DJ for a short time, he began managing recording artists. He helped singers like Pinky de Leon, Maricris Vermont, and Leah Navarro.
Starting a Business
Wyngard Tracy was also a smart businessman. He teamed up with his friends, Mark de Leon and Ricky Trinidad. Together, they opened a place called "The Music Hall" in Greenhills.
Judging TV Shows
Wyngard Tracy became a judge on several talent shows. In 2005, he was a judge for Search for the Star in a Million on ABS-CBN. He even joined the Philippine version of Celebrity Duets as a contestant. He finished in fifth place on that show.
He also traveled to Vancouver, Canada, to judge the PNT Singing Idol competition in 2008 and 2009. In January 2010, he appeared as a guest judge on ABS-CBN's popular talent show Showtime. Many people called him "The Simon Cowell of the Philippines" because of his honest judging style.
His Passing
Wyngard Tracy faced some health challenges in 2010. On October 20, 2010, he was taken to the Makati Medical Center. He had a stroke, which is a serious medical condition. The next day, doctors performed surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain. Earlier that year, in July, he also had heart surgery after a heart attack.
Sadly, Wyngard Tracy passed away on November 16, 2010, at around 3:45 AM. He died due to complications from his stroke.
