X Japan is a very popular Japanese rock band. They were started in 1982 by a musician named Yoshiki. This band has sold more than 30 million albums and singles. They have also sold over 2 million videos!
X Japan stopped making music in 1997. But good news! They got back together in 2007. Their first world tour happened in Hong Kong in 2009. They played for 20,000 fans over two days. Many other bands, especially those in the visual kei style, have been inspired by X Japan.
Band Name History
The band was first called "X." However, there was another band with the same name. To avoid any confusion, they decided to change their name. That's how they became "X Japan."
