Xena: Warrior Princess is an exciting video game where you fight lots of enemies! It came out on the PlayStation console on September 30, 1999. The game was made by VU Games and published by Electronic Arts. It's based on the popular TV show you might know.

About the Game

In this game, you play as Xena, the famous Warrior Princess. Your main goal is to rescue your friend, Gabrielle. She has been captured, and you need to fight the bad guys who took her.

The game lets you see Xena from behind, like you're watching over her shoulder. This is called a "third-person" view. You will move through different 3D areas. Your main actions are slashing, jumping, and kicking to defeat enemies.

You can do cool special moves, just like in the TV show! These are called combo moves. You make them by pressing different buttons together. But even if you just press buttons quickly, it often works well too.

Xena can also find special power-ups along the way. These give her extra strength or abilities. She also uses her famous weapon, the chakram. This is a special, round throwing weapon.

Using the Chakram

When you throw the chakram, the camera view changes. You get to see the spinning weapon as it flies! You can even guide it a little bit. After it hits something, it flies back to Xena.

You need to be smart when you use the chakram. While it's flying, Xena cannot defend herself. So, if enemies are shooting arrows or attacking you up close, be careful! You can use the chakram to hit switches, cut chains, or attack enemies from far away. Sometimes, enemies hold people hostage. You can use the chakram to hit those enemies without hurting the hostages.

Other Game Versions

The Xena: Warrior Princess game also came out on other consoles:

  • A version for the Game Boy Color was made. It was developed and released by Titus Software in 2000.
  • Another version for the PS2 was released. However, this one only came out in Europe.
