Xuanwu Lake is a beautiful lake located in Nanjing, China. It is surrounded by a large, green park that is very popular. Many people, both from Nanjing and from other countries, love to visit Xuanwu Lake and its park.
This lake is quite big! It covers an area of about 5.02 square kilometers (which is about 1.94 square miles). This makes it the largest lake in China that used to be part of an emperor's special garden.

History of Xuanwu Lake
Xuanwu Lake has a very long and interesting past, going back about 2,300 years! Its history began around the time of the Qin family of rulers.
An Ancient Imperial Garden
For many years, Xuanwu Lake was a special place for China's emperors. It was one of their private gardens during the time of the Six Dynasties and later under the Ming rulers. Imagine emperors walking by this very lake centuries ago!
Visiting Xuanwu Lake Park
The park around Xuanwu Lake is a great place to spend time outdoors. It's open for visitors from early morning until evening.
How to Get There
It's easy to reach Xuanwu Lake. There is a Nanjing Subway station very close by, and several bus stops are also conveniently located near the park entrances.
