Yampupata is a piece of land in Bolivia that sticks out into Lake Titicaca. It is a peninsula located in the north-western part of the Copacabana Peninsula. This area is part of the La Paz Department, specifically in the Manco Kapac Province and Copacabana Municipality.

Yampupata is very close to two famous islands in Lake Titicaca: Isla de la Luna (Island of the Moon) and Isla del Sol (Island of the Sun). The peninsula and Isla del Sol together create a narrow waterway called the Strait of Yampupata.

Where is Yampupata Located?

The Yampupata Peninsula is found in the country of Bolivia, which is in South America. It is part of the La Paz Department. This department is a large area, similar to a state or province.

Within the La Paz Department, Yampupata is in the Manco Kapac Province. It is also part of the Copacabana Municipality. This municipality is known for its beautiful lake views and cultural sites.
